For my Rodeo Chitlin Circuit Festival concept, I created designs that truly celebrates the spirit of Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ album. Inspired by the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit she mentions in her song YA YA, I reimagined it as a lively unforgettable festival, one that honors Southern roots and the grit of the Chitlin Circuit’s history. I carefully chose colors from Beyoncé’s website, weaving them into each detail to feel close to her brand and her fans.

The Rodeo Chitlin Circuit Festival would be a vibrant celebration of African American cowboy culture, blending the high-energy excitement of rodeo events with the rich heritage of the Southern Chitlin Circuit. Set in a sprawling, rustic venue reminiscent of a traditional ranch, the festival would feature live rodeo competitions, including bull riding, barrel racing, and roping, highlighting the skills and traditions of Black cowboys and cowgirls. Alongside the rodeo, the festival would include food vendors serving soul food classics, including chitlins, fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread, offering a true taste of Southern hospitality.

The festival would also include a dynamic lineup of live music, featuring country, blues, jazz, and R&B performances, echoing the Chitlin Circuit's legacy of showcasing Black musical talent. The lineup would include every artist on the Cowboy Carter album. Throughout this Fall 2024 semester I spent working on this concept that I just know us BEYHIVE would love and enjoy.
